Cops in both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Sunday have recovered and seized 32 lakh rupees of new currency notes.
All the denominations are of rupees 2,000 notes. They have arrested 14 members in a total of two separate locations in Andhra and Telangana. The first incident took place at Ramayampet in Medak district of Telangana. The Police seized new notes of 16 lakhs rupees.The money has recovered the cash from a car of the accused in a check post entering the town. In the inquiry, the accused along with the driver have claimed that they actually came to Hyderabad to deliver the amount to a person who is buying land in real estate business.
The second incident took place in Vijayawada city. The police caught a gang red-handed while they were exchanging demonetised currency notes of almost 18 lakhs rupees with more 2000 notes denominations. There are almost 12 members of that gang. They also caught old 500 and 1000 notes with them. Sources say that police handed over the entire cash to the income tax department of India
