A comedy entertainer about middle-aged men in a colony. A film with Sampoornesh Babu. A period drama. A crime thriller. A romantic drama with the son of a celebrated artist in Hindi. Budding producer Kiran K Talasila has lined up the most exciting films in the coming months and it has taken a lot of planning for him to do so!
For the uninitiated, Kiran, working in the US as a banking professional since 1999, has forayed into the film industry and forged a series of movies in no time. ‘Crazy Uncles’, featuring Sree Mukhi, Mano and others, is one of his current projects. The film, as its trailer shows, is about a few middle-aged men and the women in their lives.
Talking about his other projects, Kiran says, “My ‘Godhari Kathalu’ is going to be a period film, whose story unfolds in the 1970s. ‘Goldman’ stars Sampoornesh Babu. ‘Naluguritho Narayana’ is a crime thriller laden with suspense.”
Besides rich content, Kiran wants to try all genres. As an outsider who made a lateral entry, how is he able to manage things this fast? “The film industry is a bit unorganized down South. By doing films like ‘Bhale Manchi Chowka Beram’, ‘Gorilla’ (Tamil), ‘Seven’ (Telugu-Tamil thriller), and ‘Nanna Prakara’ (Kannada), I have tried to know the complexities involved. I also have friends in the industry who have the key to crack things. I am banking on them,” Kiran reveals.
One another project from Kiran is ‘Ae Kaash Ke Hum’ (Hindi) with Vivaan Shan (Naseeruddin Shah’s son) is going to be unique.
In the digital space, myeastface.com run by Kiran has been an important content creator for kids, families and women. As he expands his horizons as a producer, Kiran is also thinking of debuting as an actor.
