Prince Mahesh Babu’s spy cop thriller ‘Spyder’ is all set for its grand release tomorrow. On one side, the makers are going for a big release, another side the pre-release buzz of this flick is creating tremors among industry circles.
Even after a debacle like ‘Brahmotsavam’, Mahesh’s craze has not been shattered even a bit and the figures of this movie theatrical rights stand as a big example. Touted to be a high-octane action thriller and the fact that a star director like Murugadoss is teaming up with a top hero like Mahesh, the expectations are rocketing. Thus this movie has sold out for a huge sum of 70 crores just from the two Telugu states. Other areas of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Malayalam includes another 30 crores. Overseas rights fetched 15 more crores. Including the rest of India figures, this movie did a theatrical business of 125 crores. So the movie should collect more than this figure to call as a safe venture.
However, the producers have got apparent table profits in the name of audio and satellite rights. They got 153 crores just from the total pre-release business. Let us wait one more day to witness the grand release of this flick tomorrow.
