The Telangana Congress MP claimed that he was unaware of the by-poll preparation meeting in Munugode when he was interviewed by the TV9. He claims that neither the PCC President nor the AICC Incharge spoke with him about this matter. In response to a query, the Congress MP stated that he is not informed of any meetings that occur in the district and added that he received criticism and comparisons to the Home Guard at the Chandur gathering.
